{"id":1921,"date":"2026-04-22T17:16:59","date_gmt":"2026-04-22T16:16:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/officinafilarmonica.it\/?p=1921"},"modified":"2026-04-22T22:18:59","modified_gmt":"2026-04-22T21:18:59","slug":"passione-classica-mozart-and-the-singing-flute-lecture-concert-2026-05-17","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/officinafilarmonica.it\/en\/news\/passione-classica-mozart-and-the-singing-flute-lecture-concert-2026-05-17\/","title":{"rendered":"Passione Classica &#8211; Mozart and the Singing Flute"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/officinafilarmonica.it\/en\/news\/passione-classica-festival-of-music-culture-and-community\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"1648\">\u201cPassione Classica \u2013 Festival of Music, Culture and Community\u201d<\/a><\/strong> is an event by Officina Filarmonica dedicated to classical music, taking place <strong>from May 10 to 24, 2026 in Rome<\/strong>, at the <strong>Cloister of Santa Maria in Via<\/strong>, in the heart of ancient Rome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Festival was created as an opportunity for <strong>people and cultures to meet<\/strong>: lessons, concerts, and moments of sharing intertwine to create an open space where music becomes a <strong>collective experience<\/strong> and an opportunity for <strong>cultural growth<\/strong>, both for individuals and for the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/officinafilarmonica.it\/en\/news\/passione-classica-festival-of-music-culture-and-community\/\" class=\"button large padded\">Go to the Festival Programme &raquo;<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading red\"><strong>Mozart and the Singing Flute<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Lecture-Concert &#8211; May 17, 2026<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>The second event of the Festival will take place on <strong>Sunday, 17 May 2026<\/strong>, at <strong>5:00 PM<\/strong>, with a lecture-concert entitled&nbsp;<strong>\u201cMozart and the Singing Flute\u201d<\/strong>, performed by the <strong>Musicians of Officina Filarmonica<\/strong>, under the musical direction of <a href=\"https:\/\/officinafilarmonica.it\/en\/about-us\/music-director\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"160\">Maestro Rocco Sbardella<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the oldest wind instruments, the <strong>flute<\/strong> is distinguished by its bright and luminous tone and by the immediacy of its sound, produced directly by the performer\u2019s breath\u2014a quality that makes it naturally close to the human voice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The lecture-concert is dedicated to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart\u2019s <em>Concerto No. 1 in G major, K313<\/em>, composed in 1778, one of the most celebrated landmarks in the flute and orchestra repertoire. At a time when the flute was gaining increasing prominence as a solo instrument, this concerto established itself as a model for performers and audiences alike. Mozart succeeds in enhancing the instrument\u2019s natural qualities, highlighting its pure tone and remarkable <strong>ability to \u201csing\u201d<\/strong>, through flowing, elegant, and immediately communicative melodies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Mozart\u2019s score, the orchestra accompanies with balance and lightness, supporting the flute in an harmonious dialogue that enhances the simplicity and beauty of the melodic line. The result is music that, while refined, remains accessible and engaging, capable of evoking genuine emotion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Musical Programme<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The musical programme of the lecture-concert is as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list disc\">\n<li><strong>Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart<\/strong><br><em>Concerto for Flute and Orchestra No. 1 in G major, K 313<\/em>\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Allegro maestoso<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Adagio non troppo<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rond\u00f2. Tempo di Minuetto<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Solo Flute<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The lecture-concert will feature the distinguished participation of <strong>Maestro Luca Quaranta<\/strong> as flute soloist. <strong>Artist in residence<\/strong> of Officina Filarmonica for the 2025\u20132026 season, he is the winner of First Prize and the Special Prize for Contemporary Music at the <em>IX Flute International Competition<\/em> in Varna, as well as First Prize at the <em>XXXII ANEMOS International Competition<\/em> (May 2025).
