1. Introduction

This page describes the use of cookies and similar tools on officinafilarmonica.it, a website run by the Association “Officina Filarmonica – ETS” (“Officina Filarmonica”).

This notice is provided under Article 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”), Article 122 of Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003 (“Italian Privacy Code”) and the Cookie Guidelines issued by the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali) on 10 June 2021. It forms an integral part of the website’s Privacy Policy.

2. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website saves on the user’s device (computer, tablet, smartphone) while browsing, and reads back on later visits.

Cookies are classified according to two criteria:

  • duration: “session” cookies are deleted when the browser is closed, while “persistent” cookies remain on the device until their expiry date;
  • origin: “first-party” cookies are set by the website being visited, while “third-party” cookies are set by external services embedded in the pages, such as maps, videos or social network buttons.

There are also tools similar to cookies, for example scripts that send the IP address to external servers. This notice treats them in the same way.

3. Technical cookies

Technical cookies are needed for the website to work or to provide a service requested by the user. They do not require consent.

Cookie Notice (first party). Stores the user’s cookie choices, so that the banner is not shown again on every page.

Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe Ltd). When a donation is made, Stripe sets cookies needed to process the payment securely and prevent fraud. Stripe privacy policy

4. Cookies and tools that require consent

The cookies and tools described in this section are only activated after the user has given consent through the banner. For the list and duration of the cookies set by each service, please refer to the respective provider’s privacy policy.

Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited). Collects statistical information on how users use the website, such as pages visited, length of visit and type of device. According to Google, GA4 does not log or store IP addresses. Google privacy policy

Google Maps (Google Ireland Limited). Allows interactive maps to be displayed within the pages. When the map is loaded, Google may set its own cookies and collect browsing data. Google privacy policy

YouTube (Google Ireland Limited). Allows videos to be displayed within the pages. When the video is loaded, YouTube may set its own cookies and collect browsing data. Google privacy policy

Social buttons and widgets. These allow the website’s content to be shared on social networks:

  • Facebook and Instagram, run by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited;
  • X, run by X Corp.;
  • LinkedIn, run by LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company.

When the buttons are loaded, the social network may receive data about the page visited and, if the user is logged into their account, link it to their profile. For this collection, Officina Filarmonica and the social network operator are joint controllers. Any further use of the data by the social network is governed by its own privacy policy:

5. Other third-party services

Google Fonts (Google Ireland Limited). The website uses fonts provided by Google. To display them, the user’s browser connects to Google’s servers, which receive the IP address. The service does not set cookies. Google privacy policy

6. Profiling cookies

The website does not use its own profiling cookies. The third-party services listed in section 4 may also use the data collected for their own purposes, as described in their privacy policies. This is why they are only activated with the user’s consent.

7. Transfers of data outside the European Union

Some providers (Google, Meta, X, LinkedIn, Stripe) belong to groups headquartered in the United States. Data collected through their services may therefore be transferred outside the EU.

Such transfers take place on the basis of the European Commission’s adequacy decision on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, for providers that adhere to it, or of the standard contractual clauses approved by the Commission (Articles 45 and 46 GDPR).

8. How to give, change or withdraw consent

On the first visit, a banner allows you to accept or reject the cookies that require consent. If you close the banner with the X, all non-technical cookies remain disabled, and you can still browse the website without accepting them. Your choice is stored and the banner is not shown again for 6 months, unless the conditions of processing change.

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time through the Cookie preferences link at the bottom of every page.

You can also manage or delete cookies through your browser settings:

If you disable technical cookies, some features of the website may not work properly.

9. Data Controller and rights

The Data Controller is the Association “Officina Filarmonica – ETS”, based at Via Carlo Mirabello 34, 00195 Rome, Italy. Email: officinafilarmonica @ gmail.com.

For information on users’ rights and how to exercise them, please refer to the Privacy Policy.

10. Changes

This Cookie Policy may be updated. The current version is always published at https://officinafilarmonica.it/en/cookie-policy, together with the date of the last update.
