A Dialogue with the Orchestra

On Sunday, June 7, 2026, at 6:00 PM, the musicians of Officina Filarmonica will perform in the prestigious setting of the Auditorium “Amleto Lacerenza”, home of the Italian Army Band, with a concert titled In Dialogue with the Orchestra – The Voice of the Soloist from Mozart to Gershwin”.

Programme

Il concerto sarà diretto dal Mº Rocco Sbardella, con il seguente programma:

  • Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Concerto for Flute and Orchestra No. 1 in G major – K 313
  • George Gershwin, Rhapsody in Blue

The concert is a journey through two centuries of music, in which the soloist becomes the guiding voice that connects different worlds and styles. From the refined elegance of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart to the vibrant, urban rhythms of George Gershwin, each piece tells a story of dialogue, innovation, and virtuosity.

In the Flute Concerto in G major, K. 313, the flute engages in a refined and harmonious dialogue with the orchestra. Each musical phrase is crafted with grace and precision, and the soloist emerges as the protagonist without ever losing connection with the ensemble, creating a perfect balance between brilliance and delicacy.

With Rhapsody in Blue, the musical language changes dramatically: the piano takes center stage, blending jazz colors, syncopated rhythms, and urban atmospheres. The orchestra accompanies, interacts, and is enriched by the expressive freedom of the soloist, turning each passage into a unique moment of energy and virtuosity.

Two eras, two styles, two ways of conceiving the concerto, united by a common thread: the soloist, increasingly central and expressive, capable of transforming the performance into a vibrant and engaging experience for the listener.

The concert will feature the special participation of Maestro Luca Quaranta, as flute soloist, and Maestro Riccardo Balsamo, as piano soloist.
